Austin Safety Council is proud to support a workforce development initiative funded through the Texas Mutual Workforce Safety Grant in partnership with AGC Austin, Freestyle Languages, and Workforce Solutions. This collaborative program is designed to strengthen construction site safety by integrating safety training with practical language education, helping workers better understand jobsite expectations, safety protocols, and hazard communication.
As the construction industry across Central Texas continues to grow, clear communication remains one of the most critical factors in preventing workplace incidents. Through this grant-funded program, construction workers gain access to specialized training that improves safety comprehension, reduces accident risk, and supports long-term career advancement.
The Texas Mutual Workforce Grant allows participating employers to provide high-quality safety and language training at no cost to eligible workers, removing barriers that often limit access to professional development. By combining OSHA-aligned safety education with industry-specific language instruction, the program helps teams strengthen compliance, increase productivity, and create safer job sites.
This partnership brings together key workforce leaders across the Austin metro area. AGC Austin supports contractor engagement and industry alignment, Freestyle Languages delivers practical language instruction tailored to construction environments, and Workforce Solutions helps expand access to training opportunities that support regional workforce growth. Austin Safety Council contributes safety expertise, training resources, and jobsite readiness support to ensure workers are equipped with the knowledge needed to succeed.
Programs like the Texas Mutual Workforce Safety Grant demonstrate how collaboration can drive meaningful safety outcomes. By investing in communication, training, and workforce development, this initiative helps contractors reduce incidents, control risk, and build a stronger, more resilient construction workforce across Central Texas.
Austin Safety Council is honored to participate in this effort and looks forward to continuing to support safer, more inclusive job sites throughout the region.
