Austin Safety Council (ASC) was honored to return to the Turner Construction Academy for another opportunity to support workforce development and safety education in the Austin construction community. We extend a sincere thank you to Turner Construction Company, Turner Academy, and Hien (HT) Tran, MALM for welcoming our team back — this time with the privilege of speaking to a new class of emerging construction professionals.
During the session, ASC shared insights into the critical role of safety training, OSHA compliance, and occupational health services in protecting today’s workforce. As construction projects across Central Texas continue to grow in scale and complexity, ensuring workers understand safety expectations, site requirements, and regulatory standards is essential to preventing incidents and strengthening jobsite readiness.
Engaging with the next generation of industry professionals is a meaningful part of Austin Safety Council’s mission. Programs like Turner Construction Academy play a vital role in preparing workers, supervisors, and safety leaders with the knowledge and confidence needed to contribute to a strong safety culture from day one.
Our discussion focused on real-world safety practices, the importance of proactive compliance, and how accessible training and orientation programs support both individual workers and project teams. By emphasizing hazard recognition, accountability, and continuous learning, ASC aims to help organizations build safer, more efficient job sites across the Austin metro area.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an impactful workforce development program and to collaborate with partners who share our commitment to safety leadership. Austin Safety Council looks forward to continuing the conversation and supporting Turner Construction Academy as together we advance construction safety, workforce readiness, and industry excellence in Central Texas.
